Pressclip 950215:
Continous VDT work a health hazard
All who work with VDT more than for two hours per
day should stand under medical surveillance, according to a group researchers
from Bordeaux. The French researchers says that three specific health problems
increases significantly after two hours VDT work a day. It does not matter
whether the work at the VDT is continous or accumulated. The symptoms are
-
Eye problems, accomodation, dryness, irritation.
-
Neuropsychological, sleep problems.
-
Ache in muscles and joints.
There is no time-limits for computer work today in
European regulations, just vague recommendations for regular health checks
for those with intense computer work. But the health problems are, say
the researchers, much bigger than previously thought.
There are similar results from Sweden that shows that health problems
are more common when working 4 hours or more per day with computer work.
