Tumour Promotion by Magnetic Fields

New results shows that strong magnetic fields can act as tumour promoters and transform noncanerous cells into tumour cells.

Dr. Robert West of the National Center for Toxicological Research (NCTR) in Jefferson, AR, have found that JB-6 cells from mouse skin, formed significantly more cell colonies when grown in a 11G, 60HZ, magnetic field.

Dr. Jeffre Saffer of the Battelle Nortwest Labs in Richland, WA, suggests that EMFs enhance the effect of chemical tumour promoters.

In the mid-1980s and forward a number of other cellular or animal studies have been presented that shows that EMFs can act as tumour (co)promoters.
